About The Guide

Ed Crosby brings with him many years of experience as a Master Maine Guide. Having started guiding when he was 18 for duck and goose hunters in Merrymeeting Bay and becoming a licensed Master Guide in 1973. His guided bear hunts go back to 1976 and has successfully continued over bait and with dogs since. The largest Maine black bear to his credit was a 626 lb bruin, taken by a client with bow and arrow.

Born in December of 1952, Ed was shooting 22 cal. rifles before his sixth birthday. At age ten he was shooting shotguns at clay pigeons. He started shooting in Skeet competitions at age thirteen and won his first State of Maine Junior Championship that same year and held State Champion title for three more years. At age fourteen Ed won Maine State Men's Class E Championship. Ed joined the ranks of Maine's "Big Buck Club" at age eleven with a 200 lb plus 8 point. Since then he has shot sixteen more bucks over 200 lbs.

With Ed's strong background as a youth hunter, he has a special interest in youth hunting today. His most memorable times are those with clients who bring their junior hunters for their first wild game harvest.
As a cheritable justure Ed donates a guided hunt to the Arthur Wood Annual Fishing Tournament which promotes kids participation in outdoor sporting activities.
Ed is also associated with the Rocky Mountain Elk Assocciation and donates a hunt every three years for that great cause.
